DESCRIPTION: French, 8-day time/strike Empire style portico 4-column mantel clock with an inlaid case and cast pendulum, C. 1890
CONDITION: Rosewood veneered case with satinwood inlay in nice condition in an original finish with some worm holes. Case has some small veneer pieces missing and some repair to the string inlay. Someone has painted the wood moldings on the case with gold paint. Original silvered dial is worn with poor painting to some of the numbers. Hour hand is original. Minute hand is missing. Strike bell is improper; replacements are available from Timesavers.com. Pendulum suspension spring is too long causing the pendulum to hit the bottom of the case. Movement is stamped "J. B. Wilbor, Paris". Rear cover to the metal canister that protects the movement is missing. Ht. 19.75"
